Let’s talk about books
Unsere zweite Studienreise führte uns ins Appenzell. Wir beschäftigten uns zwei Tage mit der Bibliothek von Andreas Züst, einem Sammler, der in seinem Leben 10’000 Bücher zusammengetragen hat. Jede*r der 23 Student*innen generierte Bild und Textmaterial. Die Aufgabe bestand darin, dieses Material in Form eines Buches zu ordnen, zu strukturieren und zusammenzuführen. Die Bilder habe ich formal geordnet und in einem bestimmten Raster, der ihre Grösse und Winkel beeinflusst, angeordnet. Die Texte galt es zu säubern und in eine ansprechende Form und Ordnung zu bringen.
Let’s talk about books
Our second study trip took us to Appenzell. We spent two days in the library of Andreas Züst, a collector who has collected 10,000 books in his lifetime. Each of the 23 students generated images and text material. The task was to arrange, structure and bring together this material in the form of a book. I formally ordered the pictures and arranged them in a certain grid that influenced their size and angle. The texts had to be cleaned up and brought into an appealing form and order.
